SACRIFICIAL OFFERINGS

In the old testament the priest and people of Israel had to offer many things according to the sacrificial laws for the cleansing of themselves and the temple. All of the priest who went into the Holy of Holies died because they were not pure. Jesus Christ is the only human being who never died.

In the new testament, Jesus offered himself once and for all. However, we have our part to play in this sacrifice as stated in the New Testament, our body becomes the temple which houses the Holy Spirit of the living God. 1 Corinthians 3/16-17 (Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are)..  Jesus  told his disciples to do a few things so that they can be accepted into the kingdom.  He said that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees, you will not be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5/20.

I believe many have taken the sacrifice of Jesus as a free ticket to get into the kingdom of heaven.  Many have polluted the Holy teachings of grace by being inconsistent in their faithfulness to the Master of Creation, and are polluting their temple.  The disciples of Jesus are warned to keep their temples pure and holy. As living sacrifices Holy and acceptable unto God.  I am reminded that Jesus said only those who overcome all things will enter into the kingdom of heaven. He also said if we are lukewarm He will vomit us out.  See the book of Revelations for clarification.  Please let us examine ourselves and turn away from any thoughts, words or deeds that may be polluting the temple of the living, fire consuming God of this universe, before it is too late.

Shalom to all my friends
