Is It Okay For Christians To Serve Alcohol?

I am always asked this question by well meaning Christians
From a person who loved to drink alcohol and knowing the feeling I (USED) to get from even my first hit, I have no qualms about my firm belief that alcohol is demonic in nature.

This is how I describe it to those who insist that it is okay to have a (little) wine with dinner and to serve it to others is okay also.  When the Holy Spirit opened my (Spiritual eyes of understanding), I began to observe people around me who drank.  They became increasingly louder in their speech.  They laughed at nothing in particular.  Their faces will begin to contort to almost a grimace.  They got looser in their body language.  They got increasingly sloppy and vulgar.  I could go on an on about the difference in their personality.  I began to think deeply about alcohol and the demonic set-up.  Here is one scenario......First the drink (to some all it takes is one drink).  Then the thoughts begin to change......  The husband or wife  of the best friend begins to look more appealing.....thoughts of LUST begins to form..........the connection is made.......the other person begins to have the same thoughts......boom.....a meeting of the minds and the rest is history (his-story) the devils story.  Satan sends his imps to finish the job.  Next few hours of fun becomes a nightmare or a lifetime of pain, not only for the two involved, but members of families far and wide. Satan has done His job of destroying that family and moves on to the next  and next and for generations families are doomed to the curse of alcoholism and many other types of addictions.  Most times is starts with ONE drink..

The next thing I see (Spiritually).  I checked the definition of the word (alcohol) and here  is Websters Encyclopedic Unabridged  Dictionary's definition of ALCOHOL...Also called ethyl, ethanol, fermentation, spirits of wine, volatile, water-miscible liquid, burning taste, having an ether-like odor and pungent burning  taste, the intoxicating principle of fermented liquors produced by yeast fermentation of certain carbohydrates, any intoxicating liquor contains this spirit.  I see the word spirits and I ask .....why would the producers of the dictionary call wine a spirit.  Then I ask is it a good spirit?  The answer is absolutely NO!
The next question I ask is why would anybody want to drink wine, beer or any type of alcohol?.  The answer is because they want to get HIGH.  Let's be real here.  God is not mocked.  Some argue the doctor say wine is good for you really?  What about the carbohydrate content, not to mention the other stuff alcohol is made of, ethyl, ethanol, etc.,?  Some argue that Paul said to Timothy to drink a little for the upset stomach Really?  Let's think of this seriously.  You have an upset stomach  and chug down a glass of wine.  How does it make you feel?  Paul also said (be not filled with wine wherein it is excess, but be filled with the Holy Spirit).. get my point yet?  Okay here is the real kicker....this is the favorite argument... Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding.  Now for serious thought.  First off Jesus' human heritage  was a Nazarene and a Priest.  They were commanded not to drink even wine. Would Jesus do something that would cause people to behave in the very manner He told them not to?   Could you see Jesus getting drunk with His disciples?  When I used to drink, I tried to imagine this as an excuse and could not envision Jesus drinking wine.  My brain even while HIGH, could not see Jesus drinking.....

The bible speaks of not doing anything that will cause another to stumble.  My take on alcohol is do not drink and do not offer it to anyone.  Why?  Okay, let's say you have a party and you serve alcohol and the people get into an accident after your party and you
were told that it is because the driver was drinking at your party.  How would you feel?  I will leave you with that thought.  YOU BE THE JUDGE OF YOURSELF.

I have purposely left off including the scriptures that relates to this blog.  My reason is one verse will not cut it.  People must search the entire bible for themselves.  I believe in allowing the Holy Spirit to be the one to convict us of our sins, because that is HIS job.
