Many may not agree with me on this subject, because we would all like to believe that we should be blessed physically, mentally and financially as soon as we say we believe in Jesus Christ. Let's take a look at all the men of great faith in the old testament who all failed in the real test of faith. Here are a few examples:-

Adam the first man ever to be born - rebellion - failed the test
Adam's first son Cain - murder, jealousy - failed the test
Noah -  drunkard - failed the test
Noah's son Ham - gossip and dis-loyalty to his father - failed the test
Moses - uncontrolled anger - failed the test
Aaron - idol worship - failed the test
Abraham -  lust of the flesh, had a child outside of his covenant marriage - failed the test
Isaac - fear of mankind caused him to lie - failed the test
Sampson - lust, fornication, vanity, pride, idolatry - failed the test
David - adulterer, liar, murderer - failed the test
Solomon - adulterer, idolatry, fornicator - failed the test

I could go on and on about how they all failed to allow the kingdom of heaven to come on earth in their lives. I see also how the generation curses became multiplied on each generation, just as I see my generation and the generations coming after me is weighted down with the curses of the parents.

How about Peter.  Here is a man who actually touched GOD, ate with Him, saw many, many, many miracles and when it was time, he denied even knowing Him, not only once, but three times.

As I see it the generation curses are very much manifested in the lives of members of our families (see Deuteronomy chapters 27 and 28 for the list of blessings and curses), just as they were manifested in the generations of those men of great faith.

The only way generation curses will be broken is each person must submit their entire life to doing what is written and the only way one can really be obedient to the laws and commands of Jesus Christ is to be "born-again" and "filled with the Holy Spirit".  My prayers will not get my children to heaven. They must submit their lives in obedience to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  However, after being filled with the Holy Spirit, we must be tested and that is where the "wilderness" experience begins.  We will be tested by the written Word and if we do not know what is written, we will fail the test, just like the great men of faith.

Matthew chapter 4. Notice what happened to Jesus after the Holy Spirit came into him.  He was led into the wilderness to be tested of Satan.  When He heard the word from Satan, He responded by saying "IT IS WRITTEN".  It was only after He passed the tests that the angels came to help Him.  Notice also that Jesus fasted food and also His mind of evil thoughts of vanity, suicide, greed, lust, etc.,  When Nicodemeus asked how to enter into the kingdom of heaven, Jesus responded.."except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven"  John chapter 3.

When I compare the generation curses as they are listed in the book of Deuteronomy, to what I see in people's lives, I am convinced that generation curses are being manifested every day.   I pray always that God have mercy on us and break the generation curses off our children, I know I have a part to play and that is to obey the laws and commands of Jesus Christ.  How about you my friend?  May we all seriously consider what we are doing to our children and the generations to follow.

Shalom to all my friends
