As I Sat In Church Today

As I sat in Church today
I thought of the many people in this world who have no place to stay
There are people eating out of garbage cans
That should not occur in this blessed land
I ask myself, what must I do to draw these people to Jesus Christ?
Should I use greed, selfishness, arrogance and foolish pride?
How about maliciousness, anger, gossip and strife?
Since none of those things will draw people to Christ
I will go to the scriptures and take a look inside
Well, I looked and behold, what did I find?
Jesus the redeemer tells me to myself I must die
His Words are found in red letters and I must comply
I must rebuke all evil thoughts, words and deeds
I must humble myself and plant good seeds
I must give with my whole heart to those in need
I must bless those who curse me
I must pray for those who abuse me
I must forgive those who persecute me
I must not pit evil for evil
I must rebuke the devil
I must be merciful and not deceitful
In the scriptures there are many admonitions
I must pay heed to His loving commandments
The next time I see someone in need I will try to plant good seeds
I will tell them of Jesus Christ the supplier of our every need
Perhaps I can help them get closer to Jesus Christ in faith
I do know that this is the day that the Lord has made
I know prayer is answered when two disciples agree to pray
I do know heaven is waiting and when Jesus calls we must not delay
